My name is Makayla Nicole Forbes, and I am 15 years old currently living in Gilbert, Arizona.I am part of a family of 6 (one brother, two sisters, myself, and my two parents I love dearly). Some of my hobbies include baking, water skiing, writing, swimming, doing makeup and hair, and the obvious, singing and playing my instruments. I love surrounding myself with nature, because it reminds me of the power and beauty of the Lord, and I could never turn down a good adventure. I love the beach and also being in the snow. Our pets include a red-eared slider turtle, and a black lab and blue heeler mix dog. I love being in cold weather, and my favorite holidays are Christmas and Easter. But now that you know a little bit about me, let's get right into my journey with music.
I have always had a love for music but didn't follow through with it until just a few years ago. I sing, and I play the guitar, violin, and ukulele. My plan is to learn even more instruments, but for now, I want to master those three. Music is so important to me because it gives me peace and happiness. I have grown so much just in these past few years, and I want to grow alongside others too. I would say my favorite type of music by far is country. I enjoy singing country music and I love how it makes me feel. I also love disney music because it's so fun, and always lightens up the mood. I love how unique each genre of music is. It is all so beautiful in its own way!

I play the violin, guitar, and ukulele, and I hope to learn the piano and possibly one more stringed instrument! I love all kinds of music, but I love country the most!
I started playing the violin in 7th grade, and I fell in love with it. I can almost never see myself quitting, although violin is so challenging, and it's easy to give up on! I'm currently practicing fiddling, because I love country music, and love the sound of it. Although it is very difficult, I hope to get better at it so I can play for my family and possibly perform at coffee shops.
I'm still working on guitar, and am going to get more into it this year, because I'm going to be taking a class at school and practicing on my own!
I got my ukulele on the Christmas of 2018, and taught myself how to play it. It's usually my go-to instrument because it isn't too difficult, and I really enjoy the sound of it, and I have so much fun playing it!
Overall, I love all the instruments I play so much, and hope to master them with lots of practice. Music has so much to offer you if you just give it your time and attention!
My family is very musical, and my dad has helped me grow a ton in my confidence as a singer. My older sister Kylie enjoys singing as well, and has been part of choir at school, and is learning piano. My brother Ian has a love for singing as well, and just began learning the guitar. My younger sister Makenzie is just starting to find her love for singing, and is beginning to sing with me more and more...below is a youtube video we made together not too long ago covering the disney song "un poco loco".
My dad loves to sing and plays guitar, and is starting to learn electric guitar to help him out with acoustic. Me and my dad are looking to start singing at coffee shops together, but for now we're just putting together covers and I have been trying to get better with my instruments, and further develop my voice.
As a family we're always listening to music. Music always lightens up the mood, and makes the atmosphere more peaceful.
Singing is a huge part of what I do...I am extremely passionate about it! I sing almost every day and my goal is to release more music soon and start doing more performances (at coffee shops and different functions).
I only began singing about a year and a half ago, but I feel like I have grown a lot vocally. I love that I can play three different instruments to accompany my voice as well!
Many people wouldn't consider singing an instrument, but it kind of is! Think of it as your own personal instrument! You can tune your voice to stay on key, and you can use it to make different sounds just like an instrument. How long have you been singing and how often do you sing?
